  1. Some great choices here, Phil! The ones whose name I don’t recognize I’m going to play next treadmill – bet I recognize the music. There may be an addition or two to my list!

  2. Great list Siri. Where to start, and where to end mine. Ripple certainly belongs there, but so many other Grateful Dead songs too.

Chuck Berry’s Promised Land is high on my list.

Of course, Bob Dylan, but which one? I’ll go with Desolation Row, I can listen to it over and over.

Just hearing his voice makes any Johnny Cash song great, but if I have to pick, I guess it’s Folsom Prison Blues.

Speaking of voices, all of the J’s: Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez and Janis Joplin. Anything their voices sing is great, but Iet’s choose, respectively, and respectfully, Send in the Clowns, Big Yellow Taxi, Diamonds and Rust, and Me and Bobby McGee.

Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah can even make me cry, almost.

When someone has been recording for over 70 years, how do you pick? But I’ll take Willie Nelson’s Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys, just because.

And then there’s Dolly Parton, who gets an award for best person and best singer. Maybe Jolene, with the secret final verse. Really, anything she sings or does should get an award. Dolly Parton for president.

Speaking of presidential candidates, Frank Zappa. I like Billy the Mountain.

Lou Reed has to be on my list. And probably Sweet Jane, the live version with the guitar intro.

The Doors. I hardly ever listen to them, but still. L.A. Woman.

    The Who. Behind Blue Eyes.

And Neil Young. Cowgirl in the Sand.

So many artists, and so many songs left out. But so much fun making the list. Thanks Siri.
